Symbolism

“There’s man and there’s nature. There isn’t a magic formula, but there’s the magic of time, its elements, and its creatures.”

In the artistic illustration of the label created by Andrea Tarella, the moon takes center stage as the key symbol of the company. It represents cycles and fertility, and most importantly, it acts as an indispensable guide for anyone working the land. The moon embodies nature’s power and provides the light that illuminates and governs the choices and activities in both the vineyard and the winery, wisely overseeing human efforts from a distance.

The two mountains flanking the labels represent Monte Amiata and Mount Etna, set beside a flowing stream that conjures images of both the Orcia River and the Sicilian Sea.

The salamander featured on the Tuscan wines serves as a good luck charm for the producer. Known as a creature of fire, it’s said to walk through flames unscathed, symbolizing resilience, determination, and consistency—qualities that are essential for achieving one’s dreams.

Meanwhile, the turtle on the right side of the Tuscan label resides in our Castelnuovo dell’Abate vineyard. As it makes its way from the small hidden pond in the woods to solid ground, it keeps us company during our agricultural work, reminding us of the importance of respecting biodiversity and the animal species that can thrive alongside viticulture.
